International Youth Day: Saliu Mustapha Foundation hosts youth workshop

In commemoration of International Youth Day 2023, the Saliu Mustapha Foundation took a bold step towards fostering environmental consciousness and sustainable development by organizing a youth workshop centered around the theme: “Green Skills for Youth: Towards a Sustainable World.” Held with great enthusiasm and purpose, this event aimed to empower young individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to contribute meaningfully to building a more sustainable future.

At the heart of this enlightening gathering was the esteemed presence of Dr. Oloungbebe, Director of Community Development at Kwara State University, who graced the occasion as the guest speaker. Dr. Oloungbebe’s expertise and insights provided invaluable guidance to the participants, offering a deeper understanding of the pressing environmental challenges facing our world today and the pivotal role of youth in addressing them.

Ahmed Ishowo Yakub, the Director of Projects, lent his voice to the discourse by addressing the participants on the urgent need to confront climate change and embrace the principles of a green economy. Through his impassioned address, Yakub underscored the importance of adopting sustainable practices and harnessing green skills to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change and promote environmental stewardship.

The workshop served as a platform for meaningful dialogue and exchange of ideas, encouraging participants to explore innovative solutions to environmental issues and cultivate a mindset of sustainability in their personal and professional endeavors. Through interactive sessions, group discussions, and hands-on activities, attendees were equipped with practical tools and strategies to become agents of positive change in their communities.

The event not only empowered youth to take proactive steps towards environmental sustainability but also fostered a sense of responsibility and collective action. As participants departed with renewed zeal and a deeper sense of purpose, they were poised to become ambassadors for environmental conservation and advocates for a greener, more sustainable world.

The Saliu Mustapha Foundation’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of leaders was evident in every aspect of the workshop, from its insightful programming to its unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship. By investing in the knowledge and skills of today’s youth, the Foundation continues to pave the way for a brighter and more sustainable future for generations to come.
